Hello!
I haven't made an update in a while, kinda been going through some stuff but I'm alright!! I just thought I'd write a bit and talk about stuff that I've been doing.
The repo is located at github.com/beanigen/nix-flake/ (https only, github) and has some documentation on how it works and why I did the things I did.
The server that this site is hosted on is kinda a mess - it's a 2012 mac mini server in a closet running proxmox and some debian VMs. While this has served me well over this nearly half a year, I do think that eventually it will be time to move to a platform that can scale up alongside my needs and what I host. I am also considering switching from Debian virtual machines to NixOS-based installs as it will allow me to not only declaratively configure everything, but also in the case of a drive failure, I can just swap in a new drive and pull my config from a Git repo and redeploy. I have been using NixOS for about a year now, and while it has an INCREDIBLY steep learning curve, it also has it's benefits such as sharing configs between multiple machines using flakes, even spanning across different Linux distros via home-manager.
When I switch, I will possibly try to add a very simple messageboard for commenting on blog posts as I would love to hear what y'all think of what I post lmao
